Research Support
The centers support public services, including analyses and evaluations on chemical substances and materials, and provide information needed to build fine chemistry databases and perform applicable research.

Center for Chemical Analysis

We are supporting chemical substance and material analysis technologies, which are the foundation for basic and applied research.

  • Analysis support and technical cooperation
  • Support for analysis and research by outside parties
  • Research and development of analysis methods

Reliability Assessment Center for Chemical Materials

We are carrying out projects that improve reliability of domestic chemical materials by performing life assessment, degradation and failure analysis, and research on technology to prevent and reduce degradation and failure, for polymer and fine chemical materials.

  • Reliability improvement projects
    - Enactment and certification of evaluation standards
    - Degradation and failure analysis
  • Technical support to improve reliability of the industrial sector
    - Property test and analysis ? Technical advice
    - Attending Physician System ? Reliability Coupon System
  • Development of durability and accelerated life evaluation techniques

Research & Policy Center for Chemical Technology

The center established a system for quick and precise provision of information required to perform fine chemistry research and results of analysis on technology trends, etc. to professional researchers in industry, academia, research institutes, and government.

  • Construction of professional fine chemistry databases
  • Collection and analysis of information, including that on professional fine chemistry technology trends
  • Identification of national fine chemistry-related policy tasks
  • Establishment of a network of fine chemistry experts (in industry, academia, and research)

Strategy & Cooperation Division

The Division builds up management strategy and evaluates the business feasibility of research outputs. At the same time it also seeks to conduct technology transfer, international cooperation and science popularization.

  • Establishing management goals, strategies, and medium- and long-term plan
  • Evaluating the business feasibility of the institute-owned technology, technology transfer and management
  • Promoting international cooperation with overseas chemical-science related research institutes and organizations
  • Enhancing the public understanding of chemical science
