Founded in 1976 KRICT was the first government research center to develop and commercialize chemical technologies. As a result, it has made great contributions to the growth of the Korean chemical industry.
To become a leading chemical technology research institute that contributes to making Korea one of the global top 5 chemical powerhouses, KRICT is promoting eco-management that embraces its determination to achieve a customer-oriented virtuous cycle based on progress-based and ethical management.
KRICT is concentrating its research resources and manpower on its four major research agendas; chemical technologies for green growth, high-tech chemical materials, new global drug pipelines, and chemistry-based fusion technologies.

Green Chemistry

As a guardian of mankind's health and the environment, KRICT is developing environmentally-friendly chemical technologies that enable sustainable growth.
To achieve this goal, KRICT is developing petrochemical and oil-replacing chemical technologies of the future to improve the efficiency of resources and prevent environmental pollution as part of its green chemistry research. KRICT is developing Chemical biotechnologies and biorefinery technologies that combine bio technologies and chemical technologies.
The Green Chemistry division is also striving to establish the relevant information infrastructure and create a Green Society of the 21st Century.
